There are plenty of young multi-hyphenate artists out there, but few with the chops and credentials of singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Jordan Lehning. The Nashville-based artist has collaborated as a producer with luminaries young and seasoned, including Rodney Crowell and Caitlin Rose, and has written lush, orchestral string parts for the likes of Kacey Musgraves, Leon Bridges, and more. With Three Colored Wall, Lehning follows his 2020 solo album Little Idols with something of a concept record, exploring grief and loss from three points of view: past, present, and future. The resulting collection of songs, which sonically veers closer to melodic indie pop than do most of his collaborative projects, is an immersive and infectious listening experience.
