Lalo Rodríguez was an award-winning salsa singer, composer, and producer from Puerto Rico best known for his chart-topping salsa romanticas and boleros. At 16, he sang on Eddie Palmieri's The Sun of Latin Music. He worked with Machito's orchestra on 1977's Fire Works album. From 1980 until 1989, Rodríguez issued six charting albums, including Simplemente...Lalo, Punto y Coma, Un Nuevo Despertar, and Sexsacional..! Through most of the '90s, Rodríguez continued to record charting albums. His final effort, Estoy Aquí, was released in 1996.
