Best known as the bassist and lead singer with Puerto Rican garage rockers Davila 666, AJ Davila also stepped out as a solo artist. Following extensive international touring in support of Davila 666's 2011 album Tan Bajo, the group went on hiatus, and Davila began work on his solo project. Recording most of the material in his home studio, Terror Amor found Davila expanding his boundaries from straightforward garage punk into tunes inspired by classic R&B, girl group sounds, contemporary pop, and vintage glam rock. Featuring collaborations with Cole Alexander of the Black Lips, Sergio Rotman of Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Alex Anwandter of Teleradio Donoso, Fofé Abreu of Circo, and Davila 666 bandmate Johnny Otis Davila, Terror Amor was released in 2014. ~ Mark Deming
