Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The earliest musical memory I have is listening to music with my dad in his old Buick. It was a '70s model and we used to call it the white elephant because it wasn't too easy on the eyes—if you know what I mean.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bruce Springsteen, Born In the U.S.A. Tom Waits, Rain Dogs (2023 Remaster) Willie Nelson, Stardust Born in the USA is an extremely misunderstood work, and it's a masterclass in trickery and socially conscious songwriting. Willie's Stardust is filled with American standards and wonderful for quiet winter nights. And Rain Dogs? Give it a try. ;~)
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Thought I'd Hit the Lotto” Lotto is still a special song to me. It's a love song, sure. But it's much more than that. It scratches a feeling—one I can only imagine would be experienced upon finding a rose amongst wreckage. It's about finding something you can't live without.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Reading American Songwriter’s article on The Earth Is Flat, for sure. I remember reading physical copies of the magazine years ago and thinking it was the coolest thing ever.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Lots of things. Score a movie... and write a musical, too.
