An eclectic, dramatic indie pop collective based in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, Annuals are led by singer-songwriter Adam Baker. Similar to the intermingling between various bands of the Elephant 6 collective back in the 1990s, Annuals share approximately the same membership as another North Carolina band, Sunfold, led by Baker's childhood friend Kenny Florence. Annuals is more pop-oriented however than the jazzy, folk-influenced Sunfold. Following a number of EPs and split singles on Terpsikhore Records, a label owned by Baker and Florence, Annuals signed to Ace Fu for their debut full-length BE HE ME in 2006. SUCH FUN followed two years later.
