Anteloper are a Brooklyn-formed experimental, improv jazz duo -- with deep links to the Chicago scene -- comprising Fly or Die trumpeter Jaimie Branch and Little Women drummer Jason Nazary, who make use of synths and effects. Chicago's International Anthem issued their debut, Kudu, in 2018, a record which captured Branch and Nazary's foreboding, glitchy improv live at Brooklyn's Carefree Studios. A month later, the pair reconvened at the local Pioneer Works art center for sessions which resulted in their Tour Beats, Vol. 1 EP. Two early 2022 Anteloper singles -- radio edits of "One Living Genus" and "Earthlings," the latter featuring Branch's vocals -- hinted at the accessible, less discordant, space-inspired sound explored by the duo on their 2022 album Pink Dolphins.
