In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Even before I could speak, my father used to play Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan cassettes in the car, and I used to sleep with my ears on the speaker. As far as I can remember, I've been singing, learning music in my school, and performing on stage.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? A. R. Rahman, Dil Se (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) John Mayer, Continuum The Local Train, Vaaqif It's a difficult one, Continuum is my favourite journey album, its John Mayer on the lose. Vaaqif is an album by an amazing band I know personally, The Local Train, I can play anything from the album and relax. And then the master piece by AR Rahman
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Gum Sum” Gum Sum is about broken expectations, Gum Sum is resilience. Gum Sum expresses a fight with your loved ones. A fight where death is freedom. A fight to keep your identity under the shackles of patriarchy. I believe it to be one of my best creations.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I was singing my latest creation just off my guitar to my next door neighbour friend. To get a feeling of how the song came out, it isn't out there yet, but she started crying and was really touched by the song.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Oh I'm just starting off! but for starters I want to work with Raftaar, Kr$na and Karma, Probably rap and create a legit hip-hop music, Release all my songs that I wrote since 2013 and work with Amit Trivedi
