Argosy did just one single in 1969, "Mr. Boyd"/"Imagine," which has attracted some attention from collectors more by virtue of the musicians involved than the quality of the songs. Both songs were written by the group's Roger Hodgson, who went on to Supertramp. The accompanying musicians were Elton John and two players who went on to play on much of John's most celebrated studio work, guitarist Caleb Quaye and drummer Nigel Olsson. The tracks are routine orchestrated late-'60s British pop-psychedelia, more on the Beatlesque pop side than the psychedelic one. Both of them were reissued in the box set The Rubble Collection, Vols. 11-20. ~ Richie Unterberger
