In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Listening in Tangerine Dream's 'Monolight' off their double album Encore (1977) in the blazing sunshine of a summer's afternoon in Dublin and feeling I had found a warm, true, forever friend for life, in music. I was perhaps 9 or 10 years old.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Kate Bush, Hounds of Love Tangerine Dream, Force Majeure Various Artists, The Insider (Music from the Motion Picture) I choose three three albums as they represent the overall spectrum of my musical interests. Just three mind you, there are dozens more, if not hundreds. There's such a wondrous grasp of mood, melody and tone on all three records, timeless, beautiful.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Beach at the End of Time” I find this one satisfying as it I'm very happy with it's tone and texture, the way it builds, the nature of the sounds and the melody, the driving drums behind it all. It tells a story and tells it, I hope, emotionally and atmospherically.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Scoring a very successful play in Dublin, The Language of the Mute and hearing that music play to packed houses. Also mixing our Banshee Blacktop score in Zoetrope in San Francisco in Francis Ford Coppola's iconic building.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Of course! To release an album of music that is successful and known throughout the world, that's enjoyed and beloved by all who hear it.
