In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Born Pedro Franke in Rio de Janeiro in 1981 and settled in Paraty (RJ) since 1985, I learned the love of music from family vinyl collection, films and tapes on a Walkman.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Lula Côrtes, Zé Ramalho, Paebiru Super Furry Animals, Rings Around the World The Olivia Tremor Control, Black Foliage: Animation Music (Remastered) Paebiru is an adventurous Brazilian Northeast album from the 70's. The Super Furry Animals taught me how songs can be written about anything at all. I'm deeply influenced by the sense of blended narrative between songs like in OTC's Black Foliage.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Corisco (Parte 3)” My new single is one of my best records so far. We managed to get a clean and bright sound for this reflexive yet uplifting song, that references Brazilian Jovem Guarda on some of the melodies, later becoming a Grandaddy kind of rock on the chorus.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? 2021 album Corisco was released by US label Overseas Artists Recordings on blue transparent vinyl and had excellent reviews and feedback from listeners.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Release as many records as possible and maybe get a band together and hit the road in the midterm future.
