Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. "Sawyer" Tom Hayden invited me onto "The Best of the Cowboy Music Jamboree" at Elko in 1991. I was fifteen. I knew a couple of original cowboy songs, some Ledoux and some Ian Tyson covers, and a cowboy poem or two. Don Edwards said, "keep it up son."
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Don Edwards, Goin' Back to Texas Ian Tyson, Cowboyography Tom Russell, Song of the West: The Cowboy Collection They've carried me through hard times, endless highway miles, and years of memories. Chris Ledoux's "Western Underground", Murph's "Cowboy Songs", and Red Steagall's "Born to this Land" are a few others that have shaped my life.

Tell us why you chose this song. “Call You Cowboy” Written for one of my lifelong best friends, working cowboy Jason Van Tassell, this is the song that started it all for me. I wrote it on a napkin waiting out a rainstorm after a day cowboying with my heroes and friends. It set me on my course.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Walking on stage at Carnegie Hall in Manhattan in March of 2024 as guest to Andy Hedges when he presented his record of cowboy anthems called "Roll On, Cowboys". With Waddie Mitchell, Ramblin Jack Elliott, Corb Lund, Dom Flemons, and many others.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to write at least a couple hundred more songs. I'd love to see a cowboy music event put together with my pards Andy Hedges, Ned LeDoux, Corb Lund, Trinity Seely, and a few other of today's rising artists from the genre. At Red Rocks !!
