In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Even before school, I knew art was my calling. I wrote poems in elementary and recorded them on cassette tapes like albums. By high school I was making beats, and in college I connected music to visual art through classes that changed my life.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Kanye West, The College Dropout Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill N.E.R.D, In Search Of... Lauryn Hill’s “Miseducation” showed me that music should inspire and revealed the power of vulnerability. N.E.R.D.’s “In Search Of…” blew my mind with genre-bending production. Kanye’s “College Dropout” made soul feel rebellious and sacred.
