At just 16, Mexican sierreño singer Chino Pacas was already attending award shows and crafting blockbuster crossovers with some of música mexicana's biggest stars. Born Cristian Humberto Ávila Vega in 2007 in Guanajuato, Pacas picked up the guitar as a child, performing in his school's classical rondalla and singing in the church choir by age 10. After relocating to Tampa, FL, he transformed his passion for music into a crucial outlet for his emotions. His 2023 song “El Gordo Trae El Mando” went massively viral, gaining the attention of Fuerza Regida’s Jesús Ortíz Paz, who quickly signed the young talent to his label, Street Mob Records, and propelled the track onto the Billboard Hot 100. Ortíz Paz grew from mentor to collaborative partner, and together they have commanded the global stage with edgy, twangy hits “PLVO BLNCO” and “Dijeron Que No La Iba Lograr,” in the process empowering a new generation of corridos auteurs.
