Monetochkaについて
Russian singer/songwriter Monetochka is known for her sharp, vivid lyrics as well as her outspoken views against war and her native country's government. She became a viral phenomenon at the age of 17 with the 2016 release of her debut, a set of ironic yet sincere keyboard-backed observations misleadingly titled Psychedelic Cloud Rap. Her second album, 2018's Raskraski Dlya Vzroslykh ("Coloring for Adults"), was a more mature, ambitious effort drawing from hip-hop and dance music, and it established Monetochka as one of Russia's most acclaimed pop stars. She fled to Lithuania following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, and made international headlines after being accused of violating foreign agent law by the Russian government. She has donated tour proceeds to a charity benefitting refugees, and following the release of her fourth album, 2024's Molitvy. Anekdoty. Tosty. ("Prayers. Jokes. Toasts."), she was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
