アーティストの略歴
South African DJ-turned-recording artist Mandisa Radebe specializes in the moody, laid-back beats and spacious, minimalist production style of amapiano. This subgenre of deep house emerged locally in the mid-2010s, gaining global attention early the following decade, with DBN Gogo being one of its strongest proponents. By the end of 2019, prestigious appearances at Homecoming Africa and Afropunk led to interesting studio opportunities. A pulsing, 2020 collaborative EP with Dinho, Thokoza Café, helped set out her stall. However, in 2021, the cleverly produced "Khuza Gogo" became her breakthrough solo single, reaching platinum status just over a year after its release. Its follow-up, "Possible," was another big hit, as was early 2022's "Dakiwe," which went viral. Her debut solo album, 2022's Whats Real, was a lengthy, versatile set. The same year, her "Love & Loyalty (Believe)" appeared on the soundtrack to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
