Comprising Hugh Attwool (drums), Dave Brown (bass/vocals), Nick Graham (keyboards/vocals), Colin Griffin (steel guitar/vocals) and Terry Taylor (guitar), most of the initial enthusiasm surrounding this London, England quintet was owing to the fact that they were managed by Bill Wyman. The group’s sound was a superior blend of late 60s psychedelic elements with forthright hard rock properties, and much was expected of their 1969 Decca Records debut album Introspection. However, despite the presence of Wyman’s fellow Rolling Stone Charlie Watts (playing tabla on the excellent ‘Shades Of Orange’, which was recorded during breaks from the sessions that resulted in the Stones’ Their Satanic Majesties Request) and Nicky Hopkins, it proved commercially unsuccessful. Previously they had released two singles, ‘I Can’t Get Any Joy’ and an earlier version of ‘Shades Of Orange’, but after the failure of their debut album the group transmuted into Tucky Buzzard. That group, still under the aegis of Wyman as producer, released further tracks in the 70s but again success eluded them.
