FIFTY FIFTYについて
South Korean girl group FIFTY FIFTY proved that melancholy disco could move listeners both on and off the dance floor. Debuting in late 2022 as a quartet, FIFTY FIFTY won notice for its smooth, heart-wrenching dance pop captured on songs such as “Higher” and “Tell Me.” They solidified their sound on the 2023 single “Cupid,” which paired a midtempo melody with bittersweet lyrics, resulting in something like a K-pop reimagining of Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers.” Released in both Korean and English, “Cupid” became a viral sensation and then a global chart hit. It helped get FIFTY FIFTY a track on Barbie The Album. The group’s success led to various legal issues with their record label, with all but one member leaving the project by the end of 2023. Despite this, FIFTY FIFTY’s original lineup left its mark on K-pop history.
