Hilera invigorate OPM with their defiant flavour of alt-rock that’s rooted in a deep knowledge of the genre. Having entered the limelight after winning a battle of the bands competition, they released their impressive debut in 2006—breakthrough track “Define” is a vicious explosion of power chords and unapologetic drum-filled rock. The band’s follow-up offspring—2009’s Nut House and 2011’s Kid in a Coma—confirmed their rock wizardry with a complex concoction of rockabilly and power pop that proved the tenacious trio are well worth the listen.
