Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical experiences was performing in a school production of a well-known French musical and getting an amazing reaction from the public in the middle of a song. That connection and the thrill of performing live mean everything.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Björk, Vespertine Nelly Furtado, Folklore Sufjan Stevens, Carrie & Lowell Vespertine for its homey yet epic quality, and lush, romantic arrangements. Folklore for its ole-world-meets-modern-times feel, its brightness, its energy. Carrie & Lowell for its otherworldliness, its softness.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Dancefloor with Friends” I write bittersweet, poetic folk-pop music so this song was especially fun to write, arrange and perform because it is 100% happy and positive and upbeat!
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Getting to perform to 500 people on the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre stage in Singapore, which was home for 15 years (and still is), feeding off the incredible energy from the crowd with the beautiful marina landscape as a backdrop.
