Proudly influenced by punk and rock & roll, Norwegian pop performer Ida Maria Sivertsen burst onto the scene in 2008, garnering attention in Europe for her debut, FORTRESS AROUND MY HEART. With a restless, energetic sound that directly refutes the “quiet is the new loud” aesthetic espoused by fellow Norwegian act Kings of Convenience, Ida Maria scored a couple of U.K. hits with the brash singles “I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked” and “Oh My God,” though she proved that she could handle more subdued fare with the gentle “Keep Me Warm,” revealing a welcome sense of range.
