In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was in an early-childhood music program and I had earned a chance to play either on the harp or the timpani – I chose the timps!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Jaye Marsh, Flute in the Wild Moe Koffman, The Best of Moe Koffman, Vol. 1 & 2 The Police, Synchronicity (Remastered 2003) I am so very proud of my debut album project that brough new Canadian flute music to the world and one of my first influences was Canadian jazz and classical flutist, Moe Koffman. I was introduced to rock/pop by my Dad which colours how I play.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Bridal Veil Falls: II. Morning Rain” This is part of a suite written for me by one of my favourite composers, Elizabeth Raum. I love the sound of bassoon and flute together and the addition of harp is an unusual but magical combination. I love playing this piece for audiences!
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? A fan shared that their mother was only soothed when she played her my album to her. That makes all the work worth it!
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? So much, I'm just beginning on this next leg of my musical journey!
