KB invaded the Christian rap scene after a cosign from genre pioneer Lecrae in 2010. The Florida rapper topped Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart with each of his first three LPs.
• As a teen, Burgess battled mental health issues and depression. He changed his lifestyle in high school after a friend gave him a Christian rap CD, and he hasn’t looked back since.
• After Lecrae brought KB on tour and featured him on an album, he signed KB to his Reach Records label in 2010.
• KB’s anticipated debut album, 2012’s Weight & Glory, topped the Billboard Christian and Gospel charts. It also reached No. 4 on the Top Rap Albums chart. Lecrae guests on the booming track “Church Clap.”
• The title track off his 2014 EP 100 earned him a Dove Award for Rap/Hip-Hop Song of the Year.
• The rapper also reached the summit of the Top Christian Albums chart with 2015’s Tomorrow We Live and 2017’s Today We Rebel.
