Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories was winning Showtime at the Apollo as a young girl. The crowd chanted, “Keisha, over and over, and in that defining moment, I knew music was my destiny. Standing on that stage, I felt joy, pride, and purpose.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Jill Scott, Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds, Vol. 1 Nina Simone, The Essential Nina Simone Stevie Wonder, Songs in the Key of Life My all time favorite albums are Nina Simone Essential, Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie Wonder, and Who Is Jill Scott?. I love their arrangements, the soulful feel, and the powerful messages they deliver. These albums inspire and move me deeply.

Tell us why you chose this song. “Rocksteady” Rocksteady is a tribute to two legends I deeply admire, Aretha Franklin and Toots Hibbert. Their music inspired me, which created my sound. This song celebrates their timeless energy and honors the incredible legacy they left behind.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Moments in my career include meeting Tina Weymouth and Chris Franz of the Talking Heads, my work being considered for a Grammy nomination in 2024, becoming a member of the Recording Academy, and advocating for creatives alongside Mark Ronson.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yes, on my bucket list as an artist is to do a solo tour with my band in Europe and the West Coast. It’s a dream to take our music to new audiences, connect globally, and share the energy of our performances with even more people.
