Within a year of his debut, Louisiana rapper YK Toon had electrified the Bayou State and started to break nationwide.
• He initially performed as NFL (“Never Forget Loyalty”) Toon but changed his name to YK (“You Know”) Toon as an acknowledgement of his newfound popularity.
• In 2019, Toon released his debut single, “Free Ziggy,” followed by “City Rollin’,” for which he shot a music video that surpassed a million views in just three weeks.
• With only two releases, Toon became a local star in Baton Rouge. He started receiving invitations to perform at parties and was even booked to play a high school homecoming.
• His 2019 debut project, No Play Zone, is an autobiographical mixtape detailing his struggles growing up in Baton Rouge.
• In 2020, Toon released I Don’t Play (NFL Rules 1.0). The project’s standout song was his “City Rollin’” remix featuring Georgia rapper Quando Rondo.
