Night Viper is a female-fronted, Gothenburg, Sweden-based heavy metal troupe that incorporates elements of thrash and NWOBHM into their particular brand of decibel-pushing, retro hard rock. Formed in 2014 by Sofie Lee Johansson and Tom Sutton (Horisont, the Order of Israfel, ex-Church of Misery), the band endured a series of personnel changes before settling on a core lineup consisting of Johansson (vocals), Sutton (guitar), Jonna Karlsson (drums), Ruben Åhlander Persson (bass), and Emil Ridderstolpe (guitar). Citing a wide array of influences that includes Judas Priest, Pentagram, Metallica, Entombed, Coven, and Motörhead, the group issued their eponymous full-length debut in 2015 via Svart Records. Early 2017 saw the release of a pair of high-octane singles, "Summon the Dead" and "No Escape," in advance of their sophomore effort Exterminator, which arrived later that October on Listenable Records. ~ James ChristopheR Monger
