Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 5 years old I attended a classical piano performance at Krannert Center by my uncle Ian Hobson. He was a technical wizard at the piano and I was spellbound. Within a year I had started piano lessons with a teacher recommended by Ian
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Miles Davis, Someday My Prince Will Come Someday My Prince: Incredible ballad work especially by Miles and pianist Wynton Kelly. Black Codes: the best album from the 1980's, everyone sounds beautiful. Standards: wonderful repertoire. The trio sounds amazing at every tempo and mood.

Steve Wilson) [with Billy Hart & Todd Coolman]” This is one of the great jazz compositions written by one of my heroes: Kenny Kirkland. I loved making this trio album and our biographical film and book projects which allowed me to dig deeper and really get to the heart of this music.
