NOTIONについて
Robert Penny's varied club tracks under the name Notion (stylized in all-caps) span U.K. garage, U.K. funky, bassline, drum'n'bass, and more. The Bristol-based producer and DJ made his commercial debut in 2012 with Digits, an EP issued on Champion's Formula label. He had around two dozen singles and EPs to his name by the time Outsider, an album led by the Carrie Baxter-fronted "Found Love," saw release in 2022. The subsequent mixtape Forwards was highlighted by collaborations with vocalists Charlotte Plank ("Temporary Friends"), Cameron Hayes ("Secrets"), and Olivia Rose ("Backbone"). The tape appeared in 2024, the year Notion also achieved wider notice with his remix of Chrystal's "The Days." Penny has toured extensively and has played sets at festivals including Glastonbury, Love Saves the Day, and Coachella.
