Nashville songwriter Aaron Goodvin puts a heavy dose of get-up-and-go in his bold country tunes by outfitting them with infectious pop melodies. Born in the ’80s and raised in Alberta, Canada, Goodvin moved to Nashville when he was 25 and secured the songwriting deal that led to his big break—a cowriting credit on Luke Bryan’s rocking “Out Like That.” With his songwriting bona fides confirmed, it wasn’t long before his own tunes started taking off. “Lonely Drum”—a catchy single from his 2016 debut album—went viral, driving a line-dancing craze and inspiring flash mobs that fueled sales that led to the song’s Platinum certification in Canada.
