Life moved fast for Picture This. In 2015, lead singer Ryan Hennessy uploaded a demo of his passionate acoustic anthem “Take My Hand” online and saw the view counts skyrocket well into the seven figures. Very quickly, this private recording project from the small Irish town of Athy became a proper band (with drummer/producer Jimmy Rainsford, guitarist Owen Cardiff, and bassist Cliff Deane) playing sold-out shows across their homeland. Picture This’ chart-topping 2017 self-titled album proved there was a lot more where that came from, with singles like “Never Change” and “Addicted to You” reaffirming Hennessy’s gift for delivering inspirational folk-rock missives in his endearing Irish accent. Subsequent releases like 2019’s Mdrn Lv and 2021’s Life in Colour cemented Picture This’ dominance on the Irish pop charts, even as they’ve tossed their trademark acoustic guitars into the campfire to take more cues from modern R&B and dance music.
