In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. In the mid 1980s I performed the Mahler 2nd (90 min. long) at Carnegie Hall . It was a big orchestra with extended winds and percussion, soloists in the front and a chorus in the back. To overcome my claustrophobia I had to focus 100% on the music.

Tell us why you chose this song. “Sun Ritual” I enjoyed this whole two-day I did in August of 2022 with Caleb Burhans and Clarice Jensen. We recorded string trios (acoustic and electric) that were totally improvised. Sun Ritual is the most popular of the tunes released on this session.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I have played in most of the big venues in both Boston and New York but some of the most memorable moments have been playing with my son Ben (Carrtoons) at the Montreal Jazzfest, and NPR tiny desk.
