As Rising Sun, German producer and label curator Steffen Laschinski makes lush, reflective dance music ranging from ambient and deep house to breakbeat-driven techno. He's steadily racked up a sizeable discography of limited vinyl releases, mainly on his own imprints, which include Kristofferson Kristofferson, Reality Used to Be a Friend of Mine, and distributor Styrax Electronica. His inspirational 2011 single "Lift Up Your Faces" became an Ibiza favorite, and he received acclaim for his eclectic, sprawling albums like 2016's The Lamentations of Rising Sun, which explore styles ranging from ambient to drum'n'bass. He ventured into dub techno with 2024's The Eternal.
