Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember listening to Segovia playing classical guitar as I sat by the fireplace in our house during the wintertime. In that same room I remember my parents listening to New Orleans Dixieland, Elton John, Abba, and Jaques Brel. It was quite a mix!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Jeff Buckley, Grace Stevie Wonder, Songs in the Key of Life The Beach Boys, Pet Sounds These three albums each invite the listener into a loving place, but they also push the envelope and create unique sounds and moods. These three albums are worlds unto themselves. When I sit down to write a song, I aim for this kind of journey.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Old News” I wrote this song when I was feeling great longing and even despair. I tried to break out of musical patterns of earlier songs and I was able to tap into my sadness and come up with something that I had never done before. I love the way it builds.
