In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest memories is listening to OutKast in my mom's car as a kid. It had to be around 2002 and we were jamming out to Ms. Jackson in my elementary school parking lot. That moment pretty much put in motion my idea of becoming an artist.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Drake, Nothing Was the Same (Deluxe) JAY-Z, The Blueprint Kanye West, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy These albums were the building blocks to my career. When I'm making a project, I use these as a benchmark or a guideline because they really set the bar by moving the culture forward and providing a sound that was fresh and innovative.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Hearts Beside Your Contact” I feel like this is one of my most creative songs. Doing R&B allows me wiggle room when writing. There's more room for new cadences and melodies and there's really no pressure to be tough in a way, also I'm able to show off my singing ability.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? So far getting over 5 million streams on demand is the most memorable moment of my career. Coming from a town of less than 500 people and being able to reach so many people through my music is exactly what you dream of when becoming an artist.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yes, winning a Grammy award and having a billboard number 1 single or album is really the only thing I feel is left for me to achieve. Accomplishing everything I have was pretty fulfilling but those things would put my name alongside the greats.
