Static-Xについて
An industrial-metal band that has released seven albums, Static-X is best remembered for founder and late frontman Wayne Static.
∙ Before forming Static-X in 1994, Wayne Static spent the late ’80s in the Chicago rock band Deep Blue Dream, alongside future Smashing Pumpkins founder Billy Corgan.
∙ Wisconsin Death Trip, the group’s 1999 debut LP, reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers chart before going Platinum.
∙ Static-X’s breakthrough single and biggest hit, 1999’s “Push It,” popularized their self-described “evil disco” sound.
∙ On the 2000 rap-metal compilation Loud Rocks, the band teamed with hip-hop duo Dead Prez for an alternate version of the latter's 1999 breakout single, “Hip Hop.”
∙ Their Gold-certified second album, 2001’s Machine, debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 and remains their highest charting release.
∙ After reuniting in 2018, Static-X released a comeback LP, 2020’s Project Regeneration, Vol. 1, with posthumous vocals by Wayne Static and a guest appearance by Ministry’s Al Jourgensen.
