This Australian wunderkind never stops experimenting.
アーティストの略歴
Once the teen punk behind the Beastie Boys-approved trio Noise Addict, Ben Lee has since zigged and zagged happily between concept albums and collabs. Born in Sydney in 1978, Lee launched his solo career with 1995’s Grandpaw Would, furthering the mischievous wit of his early band in a mellower, more intimate mode. Lee matured quickly as a songwriter, penning a classic indie-pop sing-along with the single “Catch My Disease” from 2005’s Awake Is the New Sleep, which went double-platinum in Australia. Always a keen playmate, he briefly rekindled Noise Addict with Lou Barlow (Sebadoh, Dinosaur Jr.) and Lara Meyerratken (El May) in 2009, and linked up with actor/singer Josh Radnor for the folky duo Radnor & Lee in 2017. Continuing that zest for teamwork, Lee bolstered 2022’s I’M FUN! with guest spots from Shamir, Zooey Deschanel and Camp Cope’s Georgia Maq.
