The Style Councilについて
After earning renown with British neo-mod pioneers The Jam, singer/guitarist Paul Weller had a remarkable second act fronting The Style Council. Formed in 1982, The Style Council saw Weller and keyboardist Mick Talbot jettisoning rock in favor of the R&B influences that had become increasingly prominent in The Jam. Combining those flavors with jazzy pop, they scored 1983 UK hits with “Speak Like a Child” and “Long Hot Summer.” The following year, their debut LP, Café Bleu, brought an international charter, “My Ever Changing Moods,” which became the album’s title in North America. Their success continued over three more albums before their 1989 split. Their final album, Modernism: A New Decade, was a detour into house music that went unreleased for almost a decade. Their career was capped by a 2019 reunion to record “It’s a Very Deep Sea” for a compilation and Style Council documentary.
