Like all interesting narratives, the music of Tom’s Story has layers. The school buddies-turned-bandmates navigated the underground scene until they gained enough traction to release their self-titled debut in 2016. The band’s instrumental rock melodies are heavy with full-bodied bass and trance-inducing guitar riffs, resulting in crowd favourites like “Mugatu” that encapsulate their roots and growth. Despite subsequent line-up changes, Tom’s Story continue to explore math-rock and post-rock, and the beauty that lies in between those spaces.
