Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Driving with my mom from New York City to Virginia Beach, we played Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, and Marc Anthony on repeat. Those road trips became my first mixtape, sparking my love for blending sounds and telling stories through music.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Amy Winehouse, Back to Black Diddy - Dirty Money, Last Train to Paris (Deluxe Version) Rihanna, ANTI (Deluxe) Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black taught me raw storytelling, while Rihanna’s vocals shaped my approach to pop alchemy. Last Train to Paris inspired me to collaborate and create across genre and in community.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Lion's Gate (Freestyle)” This song is pure music alchemy. I set an intention when I wrote it and have been living into it ever since. I love how I sound, what it says about who I am, and what it hints about where I’m headed next.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Working with Pharrell Williams for sure. Growing up in Virginia Beach, he was the hometown hero. He was kind, gave me space as a collaborator, and poured into me creatively. His voice has always inspired me because I hear myself in his tone.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My goal is to keep being a catalyst for creativity among marginalized voices. I look forward to touring one day, executive producing a film soundtrack for a franchise I love, and continuing to forge my path as a musician who refuses to be boxed in.
