Marc Cohnについて
アーティストの略歴
Before becoming an award-winning solo artist, singer-songwriter Marc Cohn was a session musician and played piano on Tracy Chapman’s 1989 LP, Crossroads.
∙ His signature song, 1991’s stirring Top 40 hit “Walking in Memphis,” is a celebration of the roots of American soul, R&B, gospel, and early rock ’n’ roll.
∙ At the 1992 Grammy Awards, Cohn won Best New Artist, and “Walking in Memphis” was nominated for both Song of the Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
∙ As a newcomer who earned the respect of legends, Cohn invited Bonnie Raitt, David Crosby, and Graham Nash to guest on his 1993 sophomore LP, The Rainy Season.
∙ After a decade-long hiatus, he returned in 2007 with Join the Parade, featuring new songs inspired by Hurricane Katrina and his near-fatal shooting during a failed carjacking.
∙ Listening Booth: 1970, Cohn’s deeply personal ’70s-covers album released in 2010, features moving duets with Aimee Mann (Badfinger’s “No Matter What”) and India.Arie (Bread’s “Make It with You”).
∙ After performing together on the 2017 Grammy-nominated song “Let My Mother Live,” Cohn and The Blind Boys of Alabama released the collaborative LP Work to Do in 2019.
