Following the demise of cult psych-rockers Spacemen 3, guitarist Jason Pierce formed Spiritualized, and their first few releases continued to mine the same trippy terrain. 1997's Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space turned the band into a major act in the U.K., bringing together stadium-sized psych-art-rock with blues and gospel. Since that landmark release, Spiritualized have alternated these epic works with stripped-down garage releases, drifting into dream pop for 2012's Sweet Heart Sweet Light. This collection makes all stops on their psychedelic trip.
