Vladislav Herbich formed his first band aged 12, jamming to punk rock classics by Green Day and blink-182. Three years later he discovered hip-hop via the music of Chris Travis and began penning his own verses. As a leading voice of Ukrainian collective 044 Klan, he bolsters his alternative, avant-garde ethos with languid, often minimalist trap beats. And through the sly cynicism of “FAME” and the cool confidence of “STOP XANAX”, 044 Rose finds his own way to subvert the bleak outlook that pervades Eastern European emo rap.
