Londoner Ben Sims is one of techno’s most uncompromising DJs and producers. It’s no surprise that his monthly NTS Radio show is called Run It Red—it’s always packed with high-BPM tracks that push those levels to the brink. He created his edition of Selects—the biweekly playlist in which DJs and producers showcase their favorite tracks of any given moment—to be “a place where you can find tracks I’ve either selected for my Run It Red show, played in clubs, released on my labels, or just anything I’m feeling,” he tells Apple Music. In this case, that means Detroit electro from DJ Godfather and Keith Tucker, tunneling techno from Mike Storm and Jeroen Search, and more throttling beats that hew dark and deep.
