After establishing himself as a singer-songwriter and independent artist with a distinctive voice, Nikhil D’Souza was picked up by Bollywood. One of his first playback gigs were on the songs “Sham” and “Lehrein” for 2010 coming-of-age movie Aisha, with music helmed by Amit Trivedi. Since then, composers across the board—from Pritam to Vishal & Shekhar and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy—have tapped D’Souza for his heart-warming falsetto, which glides over love songs that are both serious and playful.
