Népal, the late hooded poet of French rap, was a multifaceted talent. As co-founder of the 75e Session collective, among other things, the inscrutable Parisian lurked in the hip-hop shadows with creative sparks. He joined A-lister Nekfeu on sinuous trap cut “Esquimaux”, and unleashed a wave of lilting, self-reflective solo showcases like “Rien d'spécial”. A year after his 2019 death, posthumous LP Adios Bahamas proved the late MC was quite something. His lyrical, winding confessionals continue to glimmer in the dark.
