Blink-182 began outside San Diego in 1992 with co-leaders Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge, plus drummer Scott Raynor, delivering an irreverent brand of skate punk and alt-rock. After slogging it out independently, the group inked a deal with MCA for 1997's Dude Ranch and were rapidly embraced by the mainstream. A year later, beat keeper Travis Barker replaced Raynor, and by 1999's monstrous Enema of the State, the band was headlining arenas. A brief hiatus spawned several side projects, but by 2009, the trio reunited and returned to the top of the pop-punk totem pole.
