Yeah, uh, "Stuck In Denial" is

It's very much about the same thing "The Motions" is

Except it's a bit more of a positive spin on it

Um, you know

I open the song by saying

"They say that life is pain

Don't try to run away

It knows exactly where you are"

And I feel like, in my own life

I've tried in the past to do

Everything I could to avoid pain, or shit happening

And no matter how hard you try

It seems to find you no matter what

So, um, yeah

It's about finding a way to put a smile on your face

No matter what life throws at you, um

And yeah, when I wrote this song, uh

It was the first time I met Whakaio

Who ended up, uh

Executive producing this whole record

And, um, yeah

When I- I was very, uh, frustrated and jaded

At the time with, uh

Things not working for my career, and

When a 6'4" Maori man opens the door

In the middle of L.A. and says

"Kia ora bro"

Uh, you know you feel at home pretty quickly

So, yeah, it went very quickly, uh

The whole proce- process of this song

And, um, it felt like, uh, two seconds, uh

From opening that door to finish- finishing the song

And screaming all the backing vocals, and going "Woo!"

So, yeah, this song, is uh

It's about keeping a smile on your dial

No matter what life throws at you
