 daily dose of bad reports

 So much for good news these days

 Where did the summers go when

 Friends stopped to say hello in

  A simpler time and place

 People still smile and sparklers shine

 Somewhere in the life I left behind

 There were vacations at my grandmas

 Mud pies and a big ‘ol sandbox

 Blue skies and pink lemonade

 Highschool crushes, daydream wishes

 Backseat midnight kisses

 First time feelings never fade

  

 There’s still love and innocence alive

 Like a fast ride on a rocket

 We go blowing through the stages

 Always aiming for the moon

 Growing up is just a minute

 And if you blink you’ll miss it

 We get smart too late and gray too soon

 And memories get sweeter on the vine
