An out of the way hotel, west Tennessee, early January

Snows been falling on the road, gotta wait out this old southern cold

And if I'm going straight to hell, I'll take another shot of that hotel whiskey

Washing down the trail dust

Memphis ain't for all of us, dance away to her blues

The lights are bright on the riverside, the gambling boats are full of life

We'll play the lottery all night, let it ride, cook up a good time, I don't sleep too much
