Outpost

Before I had nothing but time sitting around waiting in line Paying just to give it away sweat and tears for weeks and days Plants growing out of every crack and they wave at me as I head back To the last little home where you can see the lights are on Outpost at the end of the world just sitting here with my dog I don't know where they have gone It's just me and my thoughts in this little home Walking these desolate grounds there's nothing that I haven't found Footprints leave mud on the floor I've been kicking stones that've been kicked before Empty room wasn't always this way maybe not even today Drop of fuel in some dried out tank the lonely streets on a quiet Sunday The worlds empty I lament the sky desert sun and poison tides Clouds of nothingness lingering inside my head It's been months since I've seen a soul never thought I'd miss the people Used to only make me mad tired, frustrated and sad Outpost at the end of the line sitting here losing my mind I don't know where they have gone I hope it's somewhere unusual
