Caught up in the tailwind

of another midlife crisis.

I take a drink when they drink,

I am too weak to resist.

We’re waiting here for something,

something that will save us.

Something that means something

we know does not exist.

And after all, if there’s a hole,

I’m the one who dug it after all!

What I expect? What I deserve?

What I expect and deserve after all?

I deserve nothing at all.

A massive force of nature

drags us through the bushes,

pulls us through the landscape.

We get off on the buzz.

And we end another journey,

assess the damage done. Surprise! Surprise!

Another hole, with our faces in the mud.

And after all, if there’s a hole,

We’re the ones who dug it after all!
